Community
Susan and Michael Bellan have been members of the Greater Seattle Community for over 30 years. In that time, they have felt compelled to provide back to the community that has given them so much. They have supported the Arts through sponsorships of the Seattle Symphony and funding to the Seattle Art Museum including the beautiful Olympic Sculpture Park as well as on-going year after year support of The Pacific Northwest Ballet.
Special Community
Breast Cancer Research The Bellan’s have two beautiful daughters who are becoming wonderful young women. When you realize that one in eight women that touch your lives will someday contract breast cancer – and the majority of people in your life are women, you might feel compelled to support life saving research. Susan has personally walked in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day Breast Cancer walk two times and their family has continued to support this amazing walk through cheering stations and funding. Today, Susan will begin fund raising and walking for the Avon Walk for the Cure.
Blood Cancer Research On January 31st, 2009, a young boy who was a 5th grader at McGilvra Elementary was showing off to his friends the weird bruises on his body. Later that afternoon, he slipped into a coma and after six days at Seattle Children’s Hospital he died at the young age of 10. It turns out that this young boy was one of our youngest daughter’s best friends. All of her days at school always included her young friend in some way. This young boy had a very rare form of Leukemia – Susan and her daughter have done The Big Climb every year since the death of their dear friend.
If you feel inclined, we would be delighted to have you join us in supporting your Greater Seattle community through donations or support to any charity that you feel means something special to you. If you wish to contribute to either Breast Cancer Research or Leukemia/Lymphoma/Blood Cancer research, we have provided links for you.
